Who is GTA
GTA is a leading global provider of China financial market data, China industries and economic data, whether real-time, delayed or historical (over 55 years for the latter two), to international financial and educational institutions. The Company is also an industry leader in China in providing financial analytics, financial education and related value-added services to financial institutions, business schools, and individual investors.
Established in April 2000, GTA now provides high-quality China market data and reliable professional services to more than 1,000 businesses, professional and academic clients such as the Morgan Stanley Composite Index (MSCI), Barra, Alliance Bernstein, Barclays, the China Securities Regulatory Commission, the OECD, the Shanghai Stock Exchanges, the Wharton School, the Harvard Business School, and the University of Chicago.
GTA believes strongly that product quality is the key to its success. For that reason GTA puts employees in the field collecting and verifying data, not just calling up contacts employed by others or sitting at a computer terminal. That’s one reason over 40% of GTA’s 200 employees are spread over GTA’s 12 regional offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Beijing, Chong Qing, Shenyan, Wuhan, etc. GTA’s remaining 120 employees work from our headquarters in Shenzhen, China- right in the middle of the action.
The GTA Solution
– High Quality, Relevant, Comprehensive
A Complete Solution
GTA delivers a complete data solution by not only gathering and standardizing data from a multitude of sources on China listed companies, but by offering tools to manipulate and screen that data. Our database series include both real-time and historical pricing data, industry and individual securities statistics as well as all other critical market data and analytics, to offer not only the most comprehensive suite of China data available, but also the most accurate, in a single integrated solution.
Accurate, Relevant, Granular Data
GTA has numerous programs and quality controls in place to ensure the accuracy of its data. In addition to accuracy, GTA has increased the relevance and usability of its data by structuring its database design to conform and present its’ data to meet international standards and alleviate comparability issues. Further enhancing our data’s quality and scope, GTA provides more in-depth details (e.g., our management profile data lists salaries, education, etc. of all executives listed in each company’s annual filings) than its’ competitors. For example, while Thomson’s Data Stream for China offers 50 columns of data, GTA’s data stream has 250.
